Winsmead Readers Book Group

Public·7 members

The Winsmead Readers Book Club meets at the Constitution Hill branch of Parramatta library at 10.00 am on the fourth Friday monthly. The library organises the books for us using our suggestions. At our last meeting we returned “A Death in Cornwall”, by Daniel Silva. It was a very complicated story of intrigue and complicated art dealings. It was not popular with our group.

The book we received at our most recent meeting is “Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow” by Gabrielle Zevin. This book is about making computer games by a small group of young people and what happens to them along the way. The Library staff have asked us to give them a précis of our latest book to be included on the council’s website.

We have space for one more member and the cafe near the library makes very good coffee and cake. For more information, please contact…

The book last returned was the “The Search Party” by Hannah Rochelle”, a slightly disturbing and complicated book with many twists. The next book is “A Death in Cornwall”, by Daniel Silva.

We have space in our book club for one more member. Why not join us and curl up with an interesting book then come and discuss it with other members. See you all on Friday, June 20 at 10.00am.

Our book club, called Winsmead Readers, meet on the 4th Friday of the month at the Constitution Hill Branch of Parramatta library. We have just returned a book by Michael Robotham, “Storm Child” which was an easy read with some challenges.

The book we received this month is, by Hannah Richell, called “The Search Party” about a person who goes missing after a storm. We still have space for one more member. We received a list of the books available from the library from which we have to choose books for the next year. We don’t always get the books we suggest because there are lots of book clubs under the control Parramatta Library but the people in council do their best.

For more information, please contact Aline on 0409 340 059.

As our meeting falls on Anzac Day we will not be meeting in April. We do have room for one more member in our club and are enjoying the books the library gives us following our suggestions.

For more information, please contact Aline on 0409 340 059.
